A workforce plan for Wales

Following on from my previous post on workforce issues, this post highlights CyMAL’s newly published sector workforce development plan for 2013-14. It covers museums, archives and libraries, and outlines nine priority areas and what actions are being taken to deliver against these priority areas.

The priority areas are:

  • collection care
  • collection management
  • community engagement
  • customer care
  • ICT, digital and e-skills
  • leadership, management & business skills development
  • professional and vocational development of sector staff
  • skills sharing across museums, archives and libraries
  • volunteer management.

It’s available on the ‘resources’ page of the CyMAL webpages. If you have any comments about the plan do let me know, or contact Velma Hather, the workforce development adviser for CyMAL.
