What libraries in Wales will be doing in 2012-13

The Libraries Inspire strategy for Welsh libraries begins in April 2012. We (CyMAL) have produced a Delivery Plan for 2012-13 which outlines the key activities for each strand of work so you can see what libraries will be doing in the first year of Libraries Inspire. The delivery plan was drawn up in consultation with the sector and includes some of their own initiatives, not just CyMAL-funded activities. Each year we’ll produce a new delivery plan. The work programme will be monitored by the Libraries Inspire Advisory Group.

The strategy document and the delivery plan are available on the CyMAL website. I have also written a summary page about Libraries Inspire.

There is also a new marketing strategy for libraries in Wales. This outlines the strengths of the last marketing strategy (from 2006-11) and provides ideas for future direction and areas for focus. This strategy was externally commissioned and again was drawn up in consultation with the sector.

If you have any questions about any of the Libraries Inspire work, do get in touch. There’s certainly lots going on in the library world in Wales, and many enthusiastic and hard working library staff providing the services for the people of Wales.

PS Mae dogfennau ar gael yn y Gymraeg hefyd.
